Content Introduction | THE AGE OF LIES
The Age of Lies is a political and psychological thriller IP inspired by Henrik Ibsen’s An Enemy of the People. It reinterprets Ibsen’s question of truth versus majority power through Korea’s modern history of state violence, manipulation, media complicity, and institutional responsibility.
The story follows Han Do-hyun, a man who participated in a fabricated political case in the 1980s and is forced, decades later, to confront the truth he tried to bury. As victims, family members, documents, and testimonies resurface, he realizes that he was not merely a victim of the system, but also part of the machinery that harmed others.
Selected for the Ibsen Scope Grants 2026, the project is scheduled for a stage production at Sejong Center M Theater in 2027. Based on its theatrical development, STUDIO BAHN plans to expand the IP into a six-episode drama series, combining past events with present-day testimony.
