Summary
WOLYEONGA: SONG OF THE MOON SHADOW is an eight-part Korean dark fantasy action series that reimagines the rhythms and emotions of pansori through a fictional late-Joseon world. Wolyeong, an assassin manipulated by the legendary singer Ryu Harim into becoming the heroine of his “perfect tragedy,” discovers that her love, revenge, and suffering were deliberately written for her. Armed with the Heukjeopseon, a steel war fan, she fights in rhythm with traditional Korean musical patterns while gradually losing her most precious memories. Refusing the ending chosen for her, Wolyeong confronts the creator of her tragedy to reclaim her true memories, voice, and life. The series combines pansori, ink-wash noir visuals, martial arts, mystery, and a universal story about resisting a destiny written by others.
