Summary
Title: The Cry of 1919 (or Echoes of the Namdo March)
Yoon Hyung-sook, the "Yoo Kwan-sun of the Namdo Region" and a revered martyr from Yeosu, was a leading female freedom fighter of South Korea. During the March 10th Independence Movement of 1919, her left arm was severed by a Japanese military police officer’s sword, and she lost sight in her right eye. Yet, she never stopped shouting for independence until the very end. Even after surviving brutal imprisonment, she dedicated her remaining life to education and ministry.
A century later, three high school classmates find themselves entangled in a complex web of romance and historical secrets: Hana Jeon, who deeply admires the historical revolutionary Jeon Bong-jun; Bin Ryu, the descendant of a notorious pro-Japanese collaborator; and Naito, a popular yet controversial student YouTuber who gains fame by distorting historical truths.
