Description

The Murder Cry is a story about the friendship and revenge of Namhak, a historical figure of the Joseon era, and the tragic end that follows.
Namhak, a monster child who was born hideously ugly and grew up without a name, being despised or ignored altogether by people, finds a friend in a boy named Isu; Isu leads him to think about what it means to live like a human, and to hope that he, too, may live as other humans do.
Isu, who treats him differently from the way others treat him, is a friend and companion to him; but one day, he betrays and leaves Namhak. To take revenge, Namhak undergoes changes to make himself look like Isu, a handsome and comely man; furthermore, he uses his gift for imitating other people’s voices to captivate people, and carries out his plans one by one to bring Isu to ruins.
In the process, Namhak attempts to help others who suffer from the flaws in their appearances by having them undergo physical transformation as he did; some, however, are unable to endure the process and end up dying.
And thus begins a series of murders.
Namhak and Isu, once friends, start going down a more and more tragic path; who is the true winner in this game of revenge, through which no one can be made happy?
