Keumyoil Film is a documentary production company based in Gwangju and Seoul, Republic of Korea. The name "Keumyoil," meaning "Friday" in Korean, is inspired by the character from Robinson Crusoe. We strive to create films that awaken and challenge audiences. With each project, Keumyoil Film takes a step forward, growing as an experienced and dedicated documentary film production company.
We are a Korea-based documentary production company with a strong interest in collaborating on international co-productions. We are particularly drawn to documentaries that explore the impact of history on individuals and how personal narratives can illuminate broader social conflicts. Our latest documentary, "My Missing Aunt," premiered at the Jeonju International Film Festival this year and has been screened at various festivals in Korea and internationally. "Bright Future," a documentary co-produced with Romania, will be screening at IDFA this November.
