Metaverse Miyeojibangdwi
Video
Summary
"Miyeojibangdwi" is a virtual performance that recreates Jeju's traditional gut rituals in a metaverse environment. The project was hosted by the National Cultural Heritage Jeju Grand Gut Preservation Society and the traditional arts organization Maro, with INSPHERE providing all metaverse performance technology and CEO Haein Song serving as director. Precise motion capture of traditional gut performers from the Preservation Society — including dance, percussion, and ritual movements — was transplanted into an Unreal Engine-based virtual environment, fully digitally reproducing the space, sound, and movement of traditional gut rituals. Produced continuously over three years (2022–2024) with progressively refined technical and artistic quality, the content is currently distributed through 36 Level-Up PC cafés nationwide and the Unreal Engine marketplace Fab.
