Summary
MUA is an emotion-recognition-based XR wellness solution designed to help anyone easily and scientifically restore emotional stability. Its name is derived from Mu-a-ji-gyeong (無我之境), meaning “a state of total immersion where one forgets the self,” reflecting its goal of guiding users into deep engagement with their own emotional flow and enabling encounters with their true inner selves. It is an ultra-personalized meditation platform that provides such immersive experiences.
MUA collects biometric signals through wearable devices such as smartwatches—including heart rate, heart rate variability, oxygen saturation, stress index, and activity index. These data are analyzed in real time by MIND-C AI, an emotion inference algorithm developed over a year of joint research with KAIST’s Department of Brain & Cognitive Sciences and its affiliated Meditation Science Research Institute. Based on psychologically validated emotion models, this algorithm continuously learns from each user’s physiological responses and feedback, enabling increasingly precise and personalized content recommendations.
Rather than forcing emotional control, MUA offers an emotional journey that recognizes and naturally follows the flow of emotions, gently guiding users into immersive states. This approach draws inspiration from the Eastern ink-wash painting philosophy of Hong-un-tak-wol (“Paint the moon, yet do not paint the moon”), and is realized through multidimensional immersive environments that transcend the boundaries between reality and virtuality.
MUA’s content is structured around two core formats. First, MIND JOURNEY provides scenario-based immersive content designed around emotional flow. Users can purify and harmonize their emotions by experiencing diverse meditation practices—such as tea meditation, spatial meditation, or body scan meditation—guided by professional instructors within surreal, immersive environments. Second, MIND PALACE allows users to design their own personalized emotional sanctuary by freely combining spaces, objects, sounds, and backgrounds. With over 160 sensory elements available, users can flexibly create experiences aligned with their emotional states.
MUA goes beyond traditional meditation by delivering an integrated emotion-tech experience that combines real-time emotional analysis with responsive audiovisual content. In just 10 minutes a day—before sleep or during short breaks in daily life—users can enter a hyper-personalized immersive space through MUA, experiencing true recovery and deep relaxation.
