Summary
"Run, Hany" is a South Korean romance comic drawn by Lee Jin-Ju. It is also one of the early animated television series produced by KBS. The story depicts the journey of the main character, Hany, a young girl who loses her mother at a young age and overcomes hardships to grow into a track and field athlete.
The comic was popular and serialized in the comic magazine "Treasure Island" from 1985 to 1987, right before the 1986 Asian Games and the 1988 Seoul Olympics. It was adapted into an animated film in 1988. "Run, Hany" is the first TV animation series in South Korea. As Korea’s first TV animated series, this iconic property has built an extensive media-mix history through character licensing. It is regarded as one of the most successful OSMU (One Source Multi-Use) character franchises in Korea.
