Summary
After 2030, the United States declines into a nation crippled by massive debt, soaring inflation, and widespread drug addiction. In contrast, China and India rise to the center of global power, fueled by their vast populations and cheap labor. In 2033—the 2,000th anniversary of the birth of Jesus—an alien spacecraft crash-lands in China's Gobi Desert. Within it, 32 ancient robots are discovered, which can only be piloted by a select few possessing "Golden Blood," the rarest blood type in the world.
Forty-four years later, in 2077, China hosts an international martial arts tournament in Shanghai. Ellie, an orphan raised in Seattle, unexpectedly enters the competition alongside Naomi. As the tournament concludes, the alien ship’s AI declares itself the Second Coming of Jesus—the Messiah—and initiates Armageddon. The AI seizes control of every computer network on Earth, neutralizing all nuclear weapons and stripping the global elite of their power.
It begins granting absolute authority only to those who swear loyalty to it, inciting humans to distrust and slaughter one another. As existing nations collapse, the true Armageddon begins.
