Founded in Los Angeles, California in 1991, MBC America is the official North and Latin American subsidiary of Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation (MBC), one of Korea's leading public broadcasters. MBC America is responsible for the distribution, licensing, format sales, and localization of MBC content across the United States, Canada, and Latin America.

Established in 1961, MBC has been a leading force in the Korean content industry for more than six decades, producing premium dramas, entertainment programs, documentaries, and digital content. MBC's content has been exported to more than 50 countries worldwide, with globally recognized titles including The Masked Singer, Physical: 100, Jewel in the Palace (Dae Jang Geum), and She Was Pretty.

MBC America actively conducts business across North and Latin America, focusing on content licensing, format sales, remake rights, Spanish dubbing, and content localization.

One of MBC’s most successful formats, The Masked Singer, was licensed to FOX in the United States, where it has been produced and broadcast through Season 14. The format has also been adapted in more than 50 countries worldwide, making it one of the most successful entertainment formats in the global market. In Mexico, the local adaptation produced by Televisa has aired through Season 7, with a new season scheduled for production in September 2026.

In addition, MBC America licensed the remake rights to the hit drama She Was Pretty to Televisa in Mexico, with the local adaptation scheduled to premiere in September 2026. Beyond format and remake sales, MBC America continues to expand its licensing business for dramas, entertainment programs, and other content, while strengthening its presence in Latin America through Spanish dubbing and localization initiatives.

MBC America has established strong partnerships with leading broadcasters and platforms throughout Latin America, including Televisa, Canal 5, and Claro.
