Summary

A Man in Hanbok is a historical mystery IP centered on Jang Yeong-sil, the genius scientist of the Joseon Dynasty. After the 1442 incident in which King Sejong’s royal palanquin broke, Jang disappears from official records. Centuries later, a painting titled A Man in Hanbok appears at a London auction, reopening the question of where he went and what role he may have played in world history. From Joseon to Ming China’s Zheng He fleet, the Vatican, Renaissance Florence, and young Leonardo da Vinci, the story expands into a cross-civilizational adventure.

Built on the question, “What if a scientist from Joseon changed world history?”, the IP combines history, science, art, religion, power, and conspiracy. It has been adapted into a musical, webtoon, and AI feature film, proving its OSMU potential. The AI film was invited to the Busan International AI Film Festival and won the Grand Prize at the Korea AI Film Festival. In the U.S. market, it has potential as a series, remake, or spin-off
