Su-in has always been different, able to see what others cannot and even bring a dead bird back to life. After her parents die in a car accident, she is raised by her grandmother, who later sends her to Okju to recover a stolen sacred relic and return it to a mythical beast.
At her new school, Su-in meets Hyeon-jin, a boy who carries the scent of a divine being, and begins searching for the relic around him. But her arrival unsettles the village. As animals mysteriously begin to die, the village chief spreads rumors that Su-in has brought misfortune, turning the villagers against her. Hyeon-jin, however, only grows closer.
