Summary

Contract killer Shim Eun-ok holds the cruel world—and the intolerable people in it—at knifepoint.

Former butcher Shim Eun-ok now works for the Smile Detective Agency. With the help of Mr. Park and his assistant Choi Jun-gi, she deals with the most despicable people imaginable: a fake shaman who seduced a married man, and a greedy mother and son who abandoned their family for money.

One day, a new recruit named Lee Seong-ran joins the agency. Sensing that this is no ordinary detective office, she secretly tips off her husband, a detective—but he refuses to believe her.

Meanwhile, Smile Detective Agency faces a rival: Happy Detective Agency, run by Na Han-cheol, who has a long-standing grudge against Eun-ok. Seeking revenge, he recruits and trains Eun-ok’s estranged son, Jin-seob. For his first mission, Jin-seob is assigned to assassinate an ajumma hitwoman—the best in the business.

Unaware that the target is his own mother, Jin-seob heads to the arranged meeting place. When Eun-ok learns of her son’s double life, Seong-ran finally persuades her detective husband to intervene. Knowing that Na Han-cheol will not stop until mother and son turn their knives on each other, the two stand face to face, blades drawn.

Eun-ok chooses to sacrifice herself—but at the final moment, Seong-ran grabs her husband’s pistol and rushes in to stop the tragedy.
