Summary

In the shade of spring, I recall you from the days gone by.

The tedious exile you will spend in Cheong-ra is a year, no matter how long it is. It's a year until the following spring, and no matter how much we gnaw at a time, our end will be unchanged. So this time is like a shadow of the spring when you and I will be separated again. It could be a shadow that spring left behind its back. I may stay Cheong-ra next year but will remain in this shade and watch you go. So, my shady land will still be winter until that spring is over.

It was a weekend once upon a time. I remember the hands we held under the cubicle desk, the note tucked inside my book, the cup of hot water you handed me with a cup of instant noodles, and the smell of fabric rinse on your clean uniform shirt. I also remember the mischievous smiles on your faces as you sipped my canned coffee.

Ah, that smiling face.

I loved how you would frown as if you were bored with everything, but when you saw me, your face instantly turned into a boyish grin.
You would wrinkle your nose and laugh with your curved mouth. Later, you told me in that squeaky voice that you always wanted to stay with me if we moved to Seoul.

Woo-kyeong, I once wanted to give my whole life to you and run away with you. I wanted to depend on you entirely and possess you utterly.
