Summary
A former star prosecutor who once shook Korea’s political and business establishment is found dead in his car, his hands clasped and his tongue grotesquely lolling from his mouth. Im Dong-seok had handled some of the country’s most politically explosive cases, and the police suspect revenge. When questioning those close to him yields no clues, Detective Kim Jun-hyeok investigates the cases Im prosecuted during his career. With a conviction rate of nearly 100 percent, Im was known for securing convictions almost every time he brought a case to court. Could some of those he prosecuted have been innocent? Jun-hyeok tracks down people who may have been wrongfully prosecuted and held a grudge against Im. As he uncovers the devastating lives destroyed by the “social death” of conviction, he also discovers the powerful forces Im pursued until his final days. But the closer Jun-hyeok gets to the truth, the more elusive the killer becomes. Can he uncover the truth and catch the real culprit?
