Wollyeong-ri is a coming-of-age occult mystery with a comic streak, about two teenagers who plunge into a string of disappearances in a remote village to find their missing friend.
Seventeen-year-old Do-yun wants nothing more than an ordinary life, but ever since his pulse started summoning ghosts, every rush of fear, anger or joy brings the dead into view, earning him a reputation for fainting on cue. His classmate Ji-an dreams only of deaths and injuries yet to happen, and is so afraid of sleep that she barely closes her eyes. The one thread holding both of them to the world is Chun-ja, the friend who treated them as if nothing were wrong.
When Chun-ja vanishes during a summer farming trip, the two are drawn into a village where women have disappeared for years without a body or a trace: a village head who wants outsiders gone, a mountain man who is kinder than anyone, and the wife who no longer speaks.
